What you need to hire a UAV
UAV hire is for qualified commercial operators. Before dispatch, D2 Rentals will confirm the documents required for the platform, payload and project type.
Relevant operator or organisation details
Evidence of CAA/operator authorisation where applicable
Insurance covering the operation and equipment replacement value
Pilot competency evidence for the platform class being hired
Site or client-specific requirements where applicable
Common Questions
UAVs are aircraft, not tools. Commercial hire requires valid operator authorisation, pilot competency records and operational insurance. We confirm exactly what applies before dispatch.
Hire is intended for commercial operators holding CAA authorisation. If you are unsure what documents apply, contact D2 and we will explain the requirements for the platform and project.
Yes, where compatible equipment is available. Payloads can be hired with suitable UAV platforms or discussed as part of a wider inspection requirement.

Equipment is checked and prepared before dispatch. Supporting documents and calibration certificates are supplied with the hire as standard.
Where the equipment type requires calibration, it is checked before dispatch and supplied with the relevant certificate. Nothing leaves our centre without a full technical sign-off.
